The Soviet shaped charges of the KZ series are used primarily to penetrate armor and reinforced concrete fortifications. The charge is housed in a hemispherical sheet steel casing with a fuze well located in the top center of the charge. It can be detonated by either electric or non-electric means. All of the shaped charges of this series are similar in design, but vary in the amount of explosive, which is usually RDX or PETN.
