HomeGRENADESEUROPENetherlands

This "Ball" type grenade was made of cast iron with a threaded hole to fit a brass fuze.
It superseded the older model with the wooden fuze, like the early French grenades.
The thrower would carry a rope around it's wrist with a pull-hook on the end of it.
The hook was attached to the fuze and when it was thrown, it would take about a meter before it was lit.

Diameter : 72,7mm
Weight : 1.065kg, including 50gram Nitroglycerine gunpowder.

Used by the Dutch-East-Indies Army only (KNIL).
