Due to the lack of steel, this glass fragmented grenade was made in the last months of ww2.
It had a BZE39 or BZ40 fitted on a threaded tin cover which bayonet-fitted the glass collar.
Two variations are known so far with differences in the fragments (cuts inwards or outwards).
Grenades have been recovered carrying steel fragments added to the charge.
I have no idea what the detonator tube looked like.
