This grenade resembles the US Mk2 grenade in form and fuze mechanism.
The body has a hole in the base to fit a cork when a blackpowder charge is fitted to the body.
After throwing, the mousetrap fuze ignites the delay which on its turn ignites the b/p charge.
Bodies were recovered and fitted with a new fuze, charge and cork.
