This thin-walled cast iron spherical illuminating grenade had a diameter of 80mm. The body had 4 holes in the side, of which 3 are plugged with wood. It was ignited by a friction fuze that was fitted in the fourth hole.
Further details are unknown, possibly manufactered half/late 18th century.
