The WP Mk2 was used for both smoke and incendiary effects, and was filled with white phosphorous.
It was made of thin steel and the fuze carried a blasting cap to shatter the body and expose the WP filling to the air.
The bodies were shipped with separate fuzes.
Except for the markings there is no visible difference between the WP Mk2 and the FM Mk2.
