This East German time fuse consists of the powder train, wrapped in 10 cotton strands (uncoated); seven cotton strands (bitumen-coated); 10 cotton strands (bitumen saturated); and an outside covering of red plastic (polyvinyl-chloride).
The fuse has a water resistance period of up to 48 hours.
The East German time fuse is larger in diameter than the US M700 safety fuse and may not be employed with American fuse lighters and non-electric caps.
This fuse is issued in 9m (30ft) lengths.
